When we read about Christ and His life, we learn that he met thousands of people. Yet after his death on the cross only 120 remained committed. The difference being: Many met Christ, Few knew him. This is no more true today than it was 2000 years ago. Many have had some form of encounter with christianity or church, but few actually “know” Christ in a growing relationship. When we read about Christ and the people who got to know Him, we learn that their lives were drastically CHANGED because of this personal relationship with Him. Zaccheus is a great example of this transformation. He had heard of Christ, had knowledge of Christ and even “met” Christ in the tree. After that, Zaccheus brought Christ home, dined with Christ and got to know Christ. It was then that his life was CHANGED.

The Theme for our students this summer was “RADICAL.” We are proud to say: “Our students lived up to it.” From being engaged at our Wed. night lessons to being involved at Bay Days to our biggest camp attendance ever. BAYNET students responded boldly to the challenges issued this summer. Over 50 students punctuated our summer by committing to be a part of our “RADICAL Experiment.” They pledged to: 1) Pray, 2) Read their Bible entirely, 3) Sacrifice—talents & money ,4) Spend “Time” in ministry, 5) To “Multiply” - grow themselves and the church. We are excited and anxious to see what will happen this school year.

“RELENTLESS for what?” you might ask.
RELENTLESS in our pursuit of God.
RELENTLESS in our pursuit of holiness.
RELENTLESS in our worship and devotion.
RELENTLESS in our generosity.
RELENTLESS in sharing the hope that can only be found in Christ.

Philippians 2 tells us that Christ was obedient to death on a cross.
At what point do you give up?
At what point do you “RELENT?”

Make Today a Masterpiece

John 10:10 says: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Former great UCLA basketball coach, John Wooden said:

“When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to try their hardest to improve on that very day, to make that practice a masterpiece. Too often we get distracted by what is outside our control. You can’t do anything about yesterday. The door to the past has been shut and the key thrown away. You can do nothing about tomorrow. It is yet to come. However, tomorrow is in large part determined by what you do today. So make today a masterpiece . . . This rule is even more important in life than in basketball.
You have to apply yourself every day to become a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little bit better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be.”

It is God’s desire for us to have a “full” life. However, many of us do not know how to “seize each day” and make it the masterpiece God intended it to be. that is what this summer is about for the students of BAYNET. We are teaching them to “Carpe Diem,” to “seize the day,” every day, so that they may have the “full” life God intended.
